Adult Education for Sunday, May 22, 1011

On this 1,677th anniversary of the defeat of Darius the III by Alexander the Great we have some pretty intense offerings for your consideration.

Mickey’s class will deal with a classic tale of rape, revenge, and dirty tricks, a ripping good read which has nothing to do with the IMF.

From the “hell or high water” file, Bill Clough will lead us in a Wired Word discussion, based on the floods along the Mississippi, of what it means to trust in God when the rubber meets the road – or, more literally, when the water breaches the levee.

In Chip’s class we will continue to walk through the transitions of life, not quite so traumatic as the other two examples but still, the passages easy and difficult, which we all must go through.

And, we’re looking for teachers for Adult Ed classes. We especially need help now that we will be adding an adult section of Seasons of the Spirit (which the children use and which follows the lectionary which Elizabeth follows). That way parents and children will have thought about the same passages each Sunday and they will be able to talk about them and share their insights after church.

Each class is self contained and resources and class outlines are provided.

See you Sunday,

Bill
