Lively Learning - March 27, 2011

Mickey's Class will continue our in-depth reading of the life of the Patriarchs as we move though Genesis. And the Modern Spiritual Masters class will listen to Howard Thurman, Minister, philosopher, and civil rights activist, whose writings influenced Martin Luther King, Jr. He has been called "one of the greatest spiritual resources of this nation." His encounter with Gandhi in India led him to commit to non-violence.

Sunday March 27 is the 47th anniversary of the 9.2 earthquake that devistated Anchorage, Alaska in 1964. The Wired Word will take up natural disasters, such as Japan has just suffered and, perhaps, a little discussion of human created disasters such as we see in Libya. Is there something we should learn from them or do they just happen? Do our responses make things better or worse?

See you Sunday,
Bill
